Steps to take
01.
Sign up for a Posture Assessment for Free
(or for a fee)
You will submit a video recording of your playing (without shoes on) for the assessment. Playing a simple 2 octave scale in a slow tempo is fine. Or, if you're a beginner, playing of the all four open strings will just be fine as well.
For advanced, pre-professional, and professional players- play any piece of your choice.
A detailed assessment on your posture along with future steps to take will be made within a week of submission of the sign up form.
For an in-depth assessment for a fee, you will meet with me (Dr. Kim) for 60 min., and this is possible both online and/or in-person. Students/Clients of all levels are welcome.
02.
Next Steps
After the free assessment, my assistant will schedule a 15-min. meeting with me to discuss what your next steps will be. Here are things we'll discuss together:
1) Your most immediate & future goals
2) Set up a practice routine
3) A sneak-peak of systemized lesson/coaching plan catered to your current posture status and its needs
4) Introduction to String Clinic curriculum
5) String-intensive events that we have that you can take a part in as part of the "rehab"
Join the String Clinic community!
03.
Take your first step!
It's simple:
Take. your. first. step.
Trust the process.
04.
Keep going... with community support!
We all know that it is not an easy road to break bad habits and rebuild a new kind of strength for playing. But together as a community, we'll help each other and make this journey more meaningful!
Once a month, there will be a performance class* in which students will play for one another and give each other constructive feedback. We'll have outings too for those who can join the fun!
*Performance classes are not required.
