Welcome to my string clinic!

My name is Dr. Soo Yeon Kim - a violinist and educator - and I am the founder of String Clinic. In my doctorate studies, I explored the world of mindfulness and found a close relationship to music-making as part of the String Pedagogy studies I did independently. Since then, I've discovered innovative ways to help students play better with ease and gain back the first joys they've experienced when they first picked up the instrument.

As a professional violinist and chronic injury survivor, it has become my utmost priority to support my musician colleagues and students overcome their technical and musical obstacles by offering them a new perspective on playing with science-based knowledge about the body and its connection to the mind. With physical and mental exercises that I have developed over the years, my desire is to make the world of music-making a better place for artists to thrive.
